Our Story

Why I started ellyvate

We service our cars before they break down, and maintain our homes before something goes wrong — yet so many of us wait until we're sick, run-down or in hospital before we stop and think about our own health. I started ellyvate because I believe that order is backwards. Your health is your greatest asset, and I'd rather help you look after it than wait for the day something forces the conversation.

I'm Elly, a Registered Nurse. I started out in aged care at fifteen, went on to study and qualify as an Enrolled Nurse, and I'm now a Registered Nurse. Along the way I've worked across aged care, community nursing and the hospital — including acute surgical and medical wards. Through all of it I've sat beside people in their hard moments, and heard the same quiet wish: that they'd looked after themselves sooner.

For a long time I didn't take my own health seriously either. Then something shifted, and looking after myself became what I care about most. That's why I bring the clinical side of nursing together with a genuine focus on wellbeing — to work alongside people before they're unwell, not only after. Every drip, vitamin and injection is given by me, as your nurse.

Health should be maintained, not just repaired.

Good to know

What is IV therapy?

IV stands for “intravenous”, which simply means “into a vein”. It's a way of giving a blend of vitamins and fluids slowly through a small drip, so they go directly into a vein rather than being swallowed. Every blend is prepared and given under doctor's orders, on a prescriber's script.

Who administers the infusions?

I do — I'm Elly, a Registered Nurse. Every infusion is given by a qualified nurse, so you're in caring, clinical hands from the first question to the last drop.

Is IV therapy safe — or does it hurt?

A registered nurse places a small, thin tube called a cannula into a vein, usually in your arm, and most people feel only a brief scratch as it goes in. It's a procedure nurses are trained to do, and I'll talk you through each step and stay with you throughout. If anything ever feels uncomfortable, just tell me and we'll pause.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes — a consultation is part of how it works, never an optional extra. We start with a free phone screening to talk through your health and what you're after, and from there you'll have an Initial Consultation & Scripting with a prescriber. There's a fee for the consultation and scripting, and I'll always be clear about that before you book.

How do I know what's suitable for me?

That's exactly what the screening and consultation are for. Together we go through your health history and goals, and the prescribing doctor decides what's appropriate for you — suitability is always at the prescriber's discretion. If something isn't right for you, we'll tell you honestly and point you in the best direction.
